WWE rises more then $200,000 to help NYC Heros


When it comes to Community service WWE is never short of hands. This time they have risen over $200k+ to help the fallen families of NYC Heroes.

WWE has raised this money as part of their community outreach initiatives during the SummerSlam weekend. WWE parned with the likes of Charitybuzz.com, Answer the Call for the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund. Mark Messier, Who is the Vice President of Community Affairs for the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund said the following on this occasion-

"We are honored that WWE chose to support Answer The Call for the families of New York City's fallen first responders, Through this partnership, we collectively raised more than $200,000, which will ensure that we continue to provide a network of support and financial assistance for those who have lost a loved one in the line of duty."

Stephanie McMahon also addressed this and said- 

"We are thankful to the athletes, celebrities and fans, all of whom came together to support the families of New York's Bravest and Finest – true heroes who selflessly serve the citizens of this great city, WWE has a rich history in New York, from WrestleMania 1 to WrestleMania 29 to this year's SummerSlam, and it is especially meaningful for WWE to give back so close to home."

They collected the money with an online auction which featured 40 unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences with WWE Superstars and Divas during the SummerSlam weekend. Proceeds from this auction will provide assistance to the families of New York City Police Officers, Firefighters, Port Authority Police and EMS Personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
